HistoryThe history of the early dance ensemble Saltatriculi started in 2001. The ensemble gave its first performance, representing dances of the 16th century, at the final concert of Lilian Langsepp's early music improvisation course. Later, the ensemble's repertoire was broadened to include dances based on choreographies from the 15th century. The ensemble has performed at many various events – at smaller occasions in Tartu, at the Laiuse Castle Days, the Haapsalu Days of the White Lady, and repeatedly, at the Tartu Hanseatic Days and the Kuressaare Castle Day. The first foreign trip took Saltatriculi to the Baltic Medieval Festival in Cēsis, Latvia. Since 2002, the members of the ensemble have participated in Jane Gingell's courses; in 2005, we danced in the Timedance Hansa project "The Pilgrims of Montserrat" at the Viljandi Early Music Festival.
